Japanese attack group arrives on target : USS AIRCRAFT CARRIER YORKTOWN
Sugita maneuvers on Mc Cusky but cannot hit him..
Mac Cusky maneuvers on Japanese Ace Sugita and manages to home a few rounds on his Zero..
His mate dives hard hoping gaining enough energy to help Mc Cusky without results
TURN TWO ; Things dont get better for Sugita who takes a few rounds...
TURN THREE ; The Dogfight continues.. Sugita maneuvers wildly to escape his difficult situation
He succeeds in tailing a Wildcat but fails in hitting it...
The F4F returns the favor and after a wild series of bold moves, finally tails Sugita...
Mac Cusky finishes the job and shoots down Sugita....
TURN FOUR ; The Wildcats now concentrate on the bombers, but it might already be too late...
Mac Cusky's mate damages the trailing Val but gets hit on the process..while sugita crashes in the Pacific
Mac Cusky himself manages to home a few rounds on the Val...
TURN FIVE ; The attack force is now dangerously close to its target..
Mac Cusky's wingman fails in attacking...
And the American Ace gets hurt during his own attack run, with more success however.. One VAL goes down..
TURN SIX ; The Japanese pilots have spotted a juicy target, they begin their attack run...
Mac Cusky's mate is shot down while attacking a torpedo bomber...
Rushing on the attackers, the remaining wildcat tries a last desperate attack, but cannot shoot the bomber down..
Hell is unleashed on the bombers when Yorktown's flak brakes loose... But none of the bombers is destroyed..
Two bombs home directly on the flight deck and explode in the ammunition depot of the ship..
Which turns the Carrier in a burning wreckage while the damage control teams try to fight the fires..
Yorktown having been put out of action, the japanese admiral Yamamoto orders the next attack on the Hornet immediately to keep the momentum...
